The finals for the inaugural Southern Comfort Reserve Cocktail Competition will be held in Melbourne tomorrow night (Jun 16).

Hosted by the 1806 cocktail bar, six finalists will present their cocktails to a panel of judges including 1806 owner Sebastian Reaburn, Murmur bar manager Andy Emans and Southern Comfort assistant brand manager Brie Warnock.

The six finalists were selected after a day of heats at Red Spice Road on June 2 and include Lachy Kemsley from Spice Market and Tim Delphine from Platform 3.

Kemsley won the Woodford Reserve Cocktail Competition in April this year and Delphine was a finalist in the same competition.

Launched in Australia last year, Southern Comfort Reserve is a blend of Southern Comfort and six-year-old bourbon.

“We’ve been blown away by the response of cocktail bars to Southern Comfort Reserve,” said Brown-Forman brand ambassador, Linus Schaxmann, whose company distributes the spirit in Australia.

“I think people who come to the cocktail final will be truly impressed at the fresh ways that these guys are utilising Southern Comfort Reserve in cocktails.”
