Wine Communicators' Mentorship Up for Grabs

Budding wine communicators again have the chance to learn from some of the industry’s finest in the second annual Young Guns and Gurus Program.

The Wine Communicators of Australia (WCA) will pair six up-and-coming wine communicators each with a respected industry leader, covering the fields of journalism, PR and sales and marketing.

Participants will be able to refine their skills and explore further opportunities by tapping into the experiences and insights from the best in their field.

The six-month program aims to boost both personal and professional development among the next generation of industry leaders by providing access to a wealth of knowledge and experience.

It will also provide career clarity, direction and satisfaction, with networking opportunities among like-minded, ambitious future leaders.

The assistance provided in setting and achieving personal and professional goals will be invaluable, as experienced by the inaugural Young Guns of last year.

Participants were exposed to a range of experiences facilitated by their ‘gurus’, including involvement in radio segments,
getting wine articles published, participation in the Boutique Wine Packaging Awards and wine show judging.

This year’s gurus include sales professionals and marketers Lisa McGuigan and Ralph Dunning, journalists Judy Sarris and Peter Bourne, and PR’s Jane Adams and Lesley Ann Grimoldby.

The WCA is now calling for applicants from across the country before September 26, with the program to commence in November.
