Diageo ranked Second Best Place to Work

By Amy Looker

Diageo Australia has been named as the second best place to work in the country, according to a survey conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute which ranks workplace culture across more than 160 participating companies in Australia.

This is second consecutive year that Diageo Australia has been named in the top ten of the survey, moving up two spots from its position of number four in 2009.

NetApp Australia topped the list with OBS, Google Australia and Sentis rounding out the top five.

Diageo Australia’s MD, Tim Salt, said he was delighted that Diageo’s strengths as an employer had been acknowledged.

“I'm really proud of the progress we have made in the past year. Our people live our values every day. They show great passion and energy to be their best, and their commitment to our brands, customers, colleagues and business is outstanding. It’s really special that our employees believe Diageo is a Great Place to Work, and it’s fantastic to be recognised externally for that,” said Salt.

“Feedback from employees is also critical to our growth – it’s very important not only to communicate but also to listen. We regularly measure employee engagement and identify areas to improve though an annual internal survey on our values, as well as using other formal and informal methods to ask questions and offer feedback.”
