Barons Brewing have announced the acquisition of licensing and distribution rights for Australian beer company Outback Brewing.

Under the agreement, Barons will control all global sales, marketing and distribution for the brand, making Outback Brewery the fourth license acquisition for Barons this year.

“Barons is continuously striving to provide a more dynamic beer landscape to both retailers and consumers here in Australia and overseas,” says Barons director, Scott Garnett.

“Outback is a brand we believe will prosper on an international platform when given the proper resources to strengthen its global appeal.”

Earlier this year, Barons acquired the rights to Snowy Mountains Brewery and Lucky Beer, the latter seeing 600 percent growth in six months off a low base.

International sales play a key part in Barons’ expansion, with the company growing its business up to 50,000 cases of beer per month to the UK.

Most recently, Barons took on Byron Bay Premium Ale to further build their portfolio of domestic brands.

“Barons is on the right path in its vision to build distribution channels for independent beer companies both in Australia and around the world,” says Outback Brewery director Benn Hart.

“We believe the synergy between Outback and Barons will allow for tremendous growth and unlimited potential as we move into 2010.”

Outback Brewing offers three styles of beer: Pale Ale, Pilsener, and their award winning Chilli Beer.

Barons will distribute Outback through independent outlets as well as national chains throughout Australia, with international distribution expected early next year.
