Diageo Reserve has announced the semi-finalists for the World Class Summer Round who will be competing at a trade and consumer event in Sydney on January 22 for a place in the finals.

The semi-finals will be held on board The Sydney Glass Island overlooking Sydney Harbour with tickets available for $65 from Moshtix. The event will be a cocktail festival where the competing bartenders will be able to showcase their winning creations to guests who will help determine the winners by casting votes for their favourite drinks.

The public votes, in conjunction with the votes from a judging panel of industry professionals, will determine the three winners who will move on to compete in the finals later this year.

The semi-finalists are:

– Perryn Collier from The Laneway, with his entry, Collier's Sundown Cooler
– Phil Gandevia from Eau de Vie with his entry, The Continental
– Sarah Miller from I Know A Place with her entry, Dockers Union Punch
– Collin Perillo from Zeta with his entry, Sydney Calling
– Thiago Santos from theloft with his entry, Western Expression
– Fred Siggins from Kodiak Club, with his entry, US 10
– Adam Smith from Press Club with his entry, Our little secret
– Anita Strother from Malt Dining, with her entry, Core of my heart
– Jason Williams from theloft with his entry, Breakfast in Bed

The Summer Round was divided into three categories – Gentleman, Punch and Seasonal – and the top three entries in each category were chosen to compete in the semi-finals through an amalgamation of points awarded from Facebook votes and Reserve Brand Ambassador judging.

One lucky bartender, Callan Green from Lily Blacks in Melbourne was fast-tracked into the final by clocking up the most Facebook votes.
