This year’s Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA) is shaping up to be one of the most hotly contested in its 15-year history, with voting coming in from all sides of the trade.

Retailers and wholesalers have been busy voting on the brands, products and suppliers that have performed the best within their business over the past 12 months.

Meanwhile, the suppliers and reps are voting on the venues, outlets, groups and personalities that have outperformed their competition over the past year.

The reciprocal voting process behind ALIA provides the opportunity for both the liquor retail and supply side of the business to each recognise their top business partners, rewarding those with the best all-round services, operations and ultimately, relationships.

Winners will be announced at a gala event in Sydney on October 22, which this year has been given a 1980s theme to celebrate the 25th birthday of National Liquor News.

Guests can dress for the evening in either 80s gear or standard formal wear, and a range of entertainment is lined up for the big night.
