Behind Bars
has announced the forthcoming departure of Barry Chalmers, who will take on the role of state manager at the company’s new Queensland office in Brisbane.

Hailed as the UK’s best bartender by Theme magazine in 2005, Chalmers tended bars across Europe and Australia until he took up the role of chief alchemist at Behind Bars’ sister company, Alchemy.

In addition to his new role at Behind Bars, Chalmers will do work for Diageo‘s Premium Collection, on brands including Tanqueray no. TEN, Ciroc Snap Frost Vodka, Don Julio, Pampero, Smirnoff Black, Johnnie Walker and the Classic Malts.

“Barry will be missed by us all at the Behind Bars HQ in Sydney, but will no doubt reaffirm his place as a valuable asset to the Brisbane scene,” said Behind Bars events and trade relation manager, Cat Lyon.
