Constellation Wines Australia, soon to be known as Accolade Wines, is in the process of relocating its brand marketing team to Sydney from current corporate headquarters in Reynella, South Australia.

The move is designed to deliver stronger integration between the brand, customer and sales teams but the company added that the changes would not impact on production, operations and administrative support functions based in Reynella.

Champ Private Equity announced its intention to acquire an 80 percent interest in Constellation Wines Australia and Europe in December 2010 and the transaction was completed for approximately $290 million in late January.

Constellation Wines Australia will officially change its name to Accolade Wines from June 27 this year.

Constellation marketing director David Brand said the company had been reviewing its operations for some time with the goal of delivering better customer and consumer alignment.

“We have initiated this restructure to bring the brand marketing team closer to the sales team which is managed from Sydney, closer to the company’s most significant customer and consumer markets along the eastern seaboard,” Brand told TheShout.

“The move is intended to develop stronger integration with our insights and innovation team, our sales team and to continue our drive to better engage with our customers and consumers.

“To ensure we remain closely engaged with the operations and supply chain teams on technical brand matters we will be basing a product management team at Reynella.”
