South Australian brewer Coopers has confirmed that it will be sponsoring the inaugural Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival, which is taking place next month.

As previously reported on TheShout, the festival is taking place from 10-12 July and will feature more than 30 South Australian, Australian and international craft beers and ciders, as well as some of the state's best restaurants and chefs.

Coopers national sales and marketing director, Cam Pearce, said that as the craft beer sector had grown, Coopers had grown with it.

"Thomas Cooper was the original craft brewer, 153 years ago," he said.

"Coopers has strong credentials as a craft brewer and has been doing it for longer than most."

Pearce added that Coopers, who recently announced they would be brewing and distributing Brooklyn Lager, was proud to be partnering with the festival in recognition of Australia's beer and cider industry.

"The Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival is happening in our own backyard, so we see it as our responsibility to help make sure it's a success," he said.
