Diageo has continued its recent trend of RTD product innovation, with the launch of Johnnie & Ginger, a mix of Johnnie Walker Red Label and natural ginger ale.

The RTD is now available in both bottle and can format and follows Diageo’s RTD innovation last year which saw the launch of Bundaberg Lazy Bear plus new RTD products from Pimm’s, Gordon’s and Smirnoff.

Jonathan Morgan, Diageo Marketing Manager said: “With the warmer months just around the corner, Johnnie & Ginger is a great choice for Australians looking to make their weekend get-togethers with friends that little bit more special.”

The packaging features the iconic Johnnie Walker striding man and Diageo said it has been designed “to have visual impact and recognition at shelf”.

The launch of Johnnie & Ginger will be supported by a wider marketing campaign featuring outdoor, PR, social and POS support.

Johnnie Walker will also release a remastered Johnnie & Cola RTD range at the same time with a new look, improved cola and the same famous Whisky.

Johnnie & Ginger (ABV 4.6 per cent) will be available to purchase from liquor retailers from mid-August. Bottles (345ml) will be sold in packs of four for an RRP of $19.99; cans (375ml) will be sold in packs of six for an RRP of $24.99.
