Spanish Catalan pilsner, Estrella Damm, has expanded its distribution in Australia and is now also available through Dan Murphy’s and selected independent outlets.

Coles Liquor Group had previously had an exclusive arrangement with the Damm brewery for Estrella’s local distribution and it was only sold through 1st Choice, Liquorland and Vintage Cellars.

“Estrella Damm has a massive profile all around the world, but it is relatively unknown in Australia,” said brand manager Romy-Lee Wolman. “We are expecting big things for the beer over here, once consumers become au fait with the brand and how it tastes.”

Estrella Damm has won six major international medals with two of these being gold.

It won the World Beer Championships in Chicago in 2004 and the World Beer Championships held in Australia in 1998.

Alsatian August Kuentzmann Damm founded the company bearing his name in 1876 with Estrella Damm considered the pinnacle of the Damm Group’s century-long beer-brewing experience.

Brewed following the best pilsner tradition, it has characters of caramel, vanilla and nut, as well as fresh flowery notes and gently spicy hops notes.

Estrella Damm will sell in Dan Murphy’s for a RRP of $11.99 per four pack and $54.99 per carton.
