Mejico claims biggest tequila list

Sydney restaurant/bar Mejico claims it has the most extensive list of tequilas in Australia, with 177 different expressions now available.

Mejico has only recently usurped Melbourne bar Mamasita, which claims to have 171 tequilas.

Mejico bar supervisor Ibrail Khan (pictured right) told TheShout the tequila list is continually growing and the venue also has an impressive range of mezcal and sotol.

"The tequila selection at Mejico creates the most beautiful and interesting back bar presentation I have seen," he said.

"All the tequilas are 100% blue agave and some are special edition releases only found in Mexico."

"Our selection, particularly some Añejo and Extra Añejo are comprised of bottles from small artisanal producers, unavailable outside of Mexico, not even in the U.S."

Mejico launched in February at 105 Pitt St, Sydney, offering "modern-style Mexican food with the theatre of a marketplace".
