The first new rum in the Flor De Cana rum range to be brought into Australia by Vanguard Luxury Brands since 2008, is the ultra-premium 25 year old expression.

Only 60 bottles of this rare rum have been allocated to the Australian market and they are expected to retail for around $365.

Flor de Caña Centenario 25 is a rare aged rum that is a testament of patience on the behalf of the Flor de Caña Master Distiller, Pedro Uriarte. To create the rum, a select number of barrels of Flor de Caña were set aside to slow age and mature into the oldest rum produced by the distillery.

Flor de Caña Centenario 25 is a single estate rum, with the sugar cane grown on the distilleries own plantations in the Chichigalpa, Nicaragua. The spirit is then distilled five times, and slow aged in select American white oak barrels.

In the glass the rum has a deep amber hue, while the nose shows hints of vanilla, wood and dark cocoa. The palate is of fruit, almond and caramel and a touch of sweetness, before a long buttery finish.
