Devil's Lair has confirmed that its 2015 releases will include the first release of a 9th Chamber Cabernet Sauvignon.

Described as "the ultimate expression of Devil's Lair Cabernet", the wine is also seen as a significant milestone for the Devil's Lair team.

Devil's Lair Winemaker, Ben Miller, said: "While Devil's Lair has been highly regarded for Chardonnay for some time now, our Cabernet is really coming of age.

"We now source a significant proportion of outstanding fruit from Wilyabrup in the north, where the warmer influence from the Indian Ocean consistently produces elegant and beautifully ripe Cabernet with silky-fine tannins. Devil's Lair Cabernet is about the harmony of tannins and depth of flavour, a balance that makes great Cabernet Sauvignon."

The fruit for this wine was sourced from a small parcel of Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit was crushed and transferred to small static fermenters before being pressed and completing fermentation in 80% new and 20% one-year-old French oak barriques. The wine was matured in oak for 18 months before being bottled.

With a RRP of $119.99, Devil's Lair said the wine is now available in fine wine retailers and restaurants around Australia.
