Top NSW Liquor Stores Awarded

The Liquor Stores Association of NSW (LSA NSW) recognised the top stores, suppliers and sales representatives at its annual awards on Wednesday night (November 19).

Members and guests joined NSW Gaming and Racing Minister Kevin Greene, Director of NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing, Albert Gardner, and the Commissioner of NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing, Michael Foggo at the gala dinner.

The evening provided the opportunity to reflect on the progress of both ‘ID 25’ and ‘Don’t Buy it For Them’ – the two campaigns aimed squarely at preventing secondary supply by raising awareness among customers – while also celebrating the year.

Porter’s Liquor Green Point picked up both Top Regional and Top NSW Store of the Year, while Wine Haven Killarney Heights won Top Metropolitan Store of the Year.

Jason Oborn collected the metro award, reminding the room it’s a case of putting your head down, striving on and not worrying about what the chains are doing.

Foster’s Group picked up Beer Supplier, while Pernod Ricard won Spirits Supplier and Samuel Smith & Son received Wine Supplier for the fourth year in a row.

Richard Bowen from Cellarbrations Lugarno won Store Owner of the Year, while Ben Garvan from Dan Murphy’s Mona Vale won Store Manager of the Year.

The sales reps honoured on the night were Peter Alchin from Foster’s Group, Rohan Rabbits from Samuel Smith & Son and Shayne Borg from Independent Distillers.

The LSA NSW Awards coincided with the board meeting for the Australian Liquor Stores Association (ALSA), with all state representatives meeting in Sydney this week.
