Carlton Draught has given comedian Tim 'Rosso' Ross the keys to a selection of pubs across Australia, inviting him to step in and take control of the bar.

Styling himself as ‘The Publican’, Rosso will visit more than 30 pubs up and down the East Coast, spending an evening sharing stories with both regulars and blow-ins.

The comedian and author has gone to great lengths to assume the role of ‘The Publican’, donning a fat suit and completing a Responsible Service of Alcohol course in preparation.

“For me, nothing beats going to the pub and having a schooner of Carlton Draught,” said Rosso.

“I like the ritual of stopping at a pub, pulling up a stool and having a yarn with other locals.

“Now as ‘The Publican’ I get to swap radio microphones for beer taps and live-out every Aussie bloke’s dream of running a pub their way.”

‘The Publican’ tour will kick-off this Sunday (Oct 23) at the Woollahra Hotel, Woollahra from 4pm, with Rosso running the pub for up to four hours.

The next two stops on the tour will be:

  • Robin Hood Hotel, Waverly – October 25 at 6pm
  • Honeysuckle Hotel, Newcastle – October 26 at 6pm

More venues and event dates will be revealed over the coming week with the events all taking place in October, November and December.

“Sharing a beer and a laugh at the pub with your mates is a classic Aussie tradition,” said Andrew Meldrum, group marketing manager for Carlton Draught at CUB.

“Rosso has teamed up with Carlton Draught to celebrate everything we love about a night out at the local.”
