Wild Turkey has swelled the ranks of its portfolio with the release of Wild Turkey Spiced.

The Kentucky distillery has cultivated a reputation for experimentation, and in Wild Turkey Spiced the goal was to retain flavour but balance it with smoothness, according to Wild Turkey’s associate master distiller, Eddie Russell.

"I wanted to develop a product that brought to life the best of our robust bourbon, while delivering a smoother taste," he said.

Wild Turkey's group marketing manager Sally Byrne says the release also marks another successful experiment by Wild Turkey into different flavours of bourbon, following the release of the smash hit Wild Turkey American Honey.

“One of the pillars for the Wild Turkey bourbon brand has always been innovation and experimentation, while maintaining our commitment to quality and heritage," she said.

The new line expands the Wild Turkey range beyond the Rye, American Honey and Russell's Reserve varieties, as well as flagship bourbons, Wild Turkey 86.8 and 101 proofs.

Wild Turkey Spiced is available now and has an RRP of $49.99.
