Tooheys has teamed up with publishing company Random House Australia to create the Tooheys Cooking Handbook, aimed at giving Australians "the perfect guide to creating some great dishes".

Comprising 80 everyday recipes the Tooheys Cooking Handbook is not about complicated meals and is instead inspired by the Tooheys Brothers' have-a-go spirit. The book has recipes that are designed to encourage beer drinkers to get stuck in and give cooking a go.

Tanya Marler, brand director at Lion, said that the partnership with Random House is an exciting step for the brand and she believes the book will be well-received by drinkers of the Tooheys range of beers which includes Tooheys New, Tooheys Old Dark Ale, Tooheys Extra Dry and the recently launched Tooheys Darling Pale Ale.

She said: “The Tooheys Cooking Handbook offers a chance for home cooks to see how Tooheys beers can inspire and be part of a cooking experience that covers a range of Aussie favourites, as well as Italian, Mexican and Asian inspired cuisine.

"We know that our adult drinkers are keen to experiment with beer matching and easy to follow recipes for home-cooked food, so we are thrilled to offer them a guide to suit every occasion where food brings people together."

As well as featuring hands-on cooking techniques the book, which has been positioned as a perfect Father's Day gift, also has beer and food matching ideas as well as details on the perfect pouring technique.

The book, which was launched this week at the ALSA Conference in Darwin by Lion's trade relations director Doug May (pictured), is now available in bookshops nationwide as well as via the Tooheys online store with a $39.99 RRP.
