The Independent Liquor Group (ILG) has confirmed its 2025–2026 Board of Directors following the co-operative’s Annual General Meeting, held at the W Hotel Sydney in October as part of its Golden Anniversary celebrations.

Four incumbent directors were successfully re-elected to the Board, including Tracy Hatch of the Wellshot Hotel, Ripple Parekh of Parekh Retail, Robert McGhee of the Hillside Hotel and Shaughn Murphy of the Lucky Star Tavern. The final vacancy was filled by Doug Dalley of Mackay Northern Beaches Bowls Club, who returns to the Board after a three-year absence.

ILG said the incoming Board is a crucial connector between members and management, ensuring the co-operative’s strategic direction remains aligned with member needs while guiding long-term decision-making. Office-bearer roles will be appointed at the next scheduled Board meeting.

The announcement follows a strong financial year for ILG and a period of continued national expansion, as reported at the AGM. The co-operative reported record sales revenue, an increase in member benefits returned, and significant investment across infrastructure, logistics and member-facing services. These developments included progress on the new Swanbank distribution facility, upgrades to digital and cybersecurity capabilities, and further growth of ILG’s marketing and e-commerce programs.

ILG leadership described the past year as one defined by deliberate reinvestment, sustainable growth and a strengthened commitment to supporting the independent liquor trade. Chairman Damien Bottero highlighted the co-operative’s long-term strategy, while CEO Paul Esposito reaffirmed ILG’s ambitions to grow its member base, deepen its national footprint and continue delivering value back to members.

With a blend of experienced and returning directors, ILG says the new Board is well positioned to guide the co-operative into its next chapter as it continues evolving with the needs of independent retailers across Australia.

Congratulations to all newly elected ILG Directors.
