Sydney Brewery has officially opened its new Sydney Brewery Rozelle venue, transforming the former White Bay Brewing site into a vibrant brewpub inside a 150-year-old heritage steel mill.

The venue, located on Mansfield Street, is now operating Wednesday to Sunday, offering a family- and dog-friendly space with an on-site working brewery. The facility is fully operational and producing an expanded range of Sydney Brewery favourites alongside several new releases, including a Hazy Pale, Lemon Twist Cider, and Bat Currant – a dark, rich, fruit-forward cider made with Australian-grown fruit.

The additional brewing capacity at Rozelle is also paving the way for further NPD, with a low-carb beer set to launch in January. Beers and ciders are available on tap, in bottles and in cans, and the venue’s licence has been broadened to include spirits. Local distillers Blackwattle Distilling and Red Mill Rum have joined the offering, reinforcing Sydney Brewery’s focus on supporting producers within the Rozelle–Balmain peninsula.

As part of the takeover, Sydney Brewery has assumed control of the venue’s kitchen, bringing in Head Chef Chris Reynolds to develop a food menu designed to complement the beer and cider range. The menu features pizzas, salads and casual pub-style dishes with a focus on bold flavours and fresh ingredients.

Sydney Brewery’s Jenny Farrell said the team was thrilled to finally open the doors to the community.

“We know there has been a lot of anticipation about the opening because the brewery has been such a popular venue for the local community and visitors.

“Many of the former White Bay Brewing team are helping us launch the new entity, and we have brought in our distilling neighbours Blackwattle and Red Mill Rum so that we can provide the ‘best of the best’ local brews and spirits.

“Our new Sydney Brewery Rozelle logo is a proud celebration of local heritage, inspired by the Rosella, the bird Rozelle is named after and paired with the Balmain Tiger, the iconic mascot of the local rugby league team.

“Our venues are always family friendly, and we also welcome dogs, so people can just drop in for a casual pint and meal. We have plenty of space, games for the kids and lots of plans for further entertainment, including live sports coverage.

“We are already receiving lots of interest for pre-Christmas parties, and with such an accessible location, great beverages and food we are expecting to be very busy in the months ahead.”
