Campari Australia will distribute liqueur brands Frangelico, Carolans and Irish Mist from February 1 after reaching a hand-over arrangement with Suntory Australia.

TheShout reported in August 2010 that Italy’s Gruppo Campari had acquired these global brands from Scottish drinks group William Grant & Sons for €129 million.

These had previously been distributed locally by Suntory Australia.

Campari Australia managing director Enzo Casati said the brands represented an opportunity for the company to expand its portfolio within the liqueur category.

“Frangelico is the largest brand, with an established consumer franchise,” he said.

“Carolans operates within the competitive cream liqueur sector and represents an opportunity for the future while Irish Mist holds a unique position within the Australian market.”
