Monitor pouring accuracy and train staff on premise

12 May, 2008 by TheShout

The ProCheck™ pour test kit is the most cost effective as well as easy to use tool for bartenders and their managers to practice as well as monitor pouring accuracy on premise.

Designed and manufactured by Sydney based company UberBarTools™.

ProCheck™’s, is promoted as a self contained manual pour testing system, complete with training manual, on-line tutorials and all the extras required including pourers, bottles and a jigger for $195 per set.

Being inexpensive and easy to use, on premise outlets can afford to make the investment to train for better more accurate pouring skills amongst their bar staff.

The ProCheck™ system comprises 4 poly carbonate measuring tubes, each capable of taking up to 90mL liquid volume, ideal for multi volume drinks including cocktails. Each tube is separately contained in a sturdy easy to carry metal stand which is surface scratch resistant.

Bartenders are asked to either free pour or jigger pour directly into a tube , without seeing the accuracy of the pour until the stand is turned around to face the user. Tubes are calibrated in easy to read increments of 1mL. With continuous use bartenders who care about what they do will improve the accuracy of their pouring skills.

Recent pressures both from government and community groups concerning the responsible service of alcohol will be eased as more outlets are seen to be voluntarily making the effort to train for higher levels of pouring accuracy.

Over pouring alcohol is widely seen as a significant cost issue facing the entire industry. Reinforcing higher standards will be seen as being a positive step.
