The Wine Company has announced a new trading partnership with Victorian winery, Blue Pyrenees Estate, effective from March 1.

Established in 1963, Blue Pyrenees is most recognised for its Midnight Cuvee, crowned Australia’s Finest Sparkling Wine at the Champagne and Sparkling World Championships in 2014.

Blue Pyrenees CEO and chief winemaker Andrew Koerner said the company was excited about the opportunity of partnering with TWC.

“We were very impressed with the business acumen and drive of The Wine Company, and their growth plans,” he said.

“Blue Pyrenees had a very successful wine show year in 2014, with an incredible 12 trophies including World Champion Australian Sparkling Wine for Midnight Cuvee 2010, three trophies for Shiraz 2012, and in excess of 30 gold medals, so the quality of these unique wines is internationally recognised.”

TWC general manager Peter Yeoman said he couldn’t be happier with the partnership. “The Pyrenees region is producing some of the best wines in Australia and the introduction of this well-known brand supports and enhances what is now a market leading portfolio,” he said.
