William Grant & Son is launching a new addition to its Glenfiddich range with the super-premium Rich Oak expected to be available locally from next month (September).

The Glenfiddich Rich Oak is matured for 14 years and then finished in American and European oak casks for 12 weeks.

“Glenfiddich is well established in the minds of whisky drinkers worldwide, but it’s not until consumers taste it for themselves that they finally understand why,” Glenfiddich brand ambassador, Ian Millar, said.

“Rich Oak is a reminder of Glenfiddich’s pioneering approach to whisky which is why we’re eager to introduce it to consumers and retailers all over the country.

“It is unique in every way – from the way it is finished, to its spicy oak notes – and most likely to be on the wish-list of every whisky connoisseur across Australia come September.”

According to WG&S, single malt Scotch whisky has gained a 37.1 percent market share of the whisky category.

The success of single malt Scotch whiskies has been fuelled by an increased demand for them from both consumers and bartenders.

As part of the launch Glennfiddich, WG&S will be launching its ‘One Day You Will’ campaign, which will feature Australians chosen for their pioneering spirit and contribution to Australian society.

The Glenfiddich Rich Oak will retail at $94.99.
