Signature Hospitality Group – owners of The Sporting Globe brand – and 4 Pines have announced they are collaborating on Australia’s first sports bar and brewpub concept in Sydney’s Darling Harbour precinct.
The two businesses are set to collaborate on a new Sporting Globe concept at the site of the All Hands Brewing House on King St Wharf. Signature Hospitality Group purchased the site off Red Rock Leisure at the start of the year for $20m.
The venue will continue to be owned and operated by Signature Hospitality Group, but the microbrewery portion of the venue will be a collaboration with award-winning brewery 4 Pines. The Sporting Globe x 4 Pines Brew Pub will feature 20 taps, including special 4 Pines small batch beers brewed on site. It also has the biggest beer garden in the Darlign Harbour precinct, and has a capcity for 850 patrons.
“The 4 Pines team have an impeccable reputation for creating exceptional beer and we look forward to a long and successful partnership. Their credentials in brewing and hospitality and shared vision for the project made them an ideal partner,” stated James Sinclair, CEO of Signature Hospitality Group.
Todd Atkinson, 4 Pines CMO, added: “From day one, we’ve always set out to brew beer that we wanted to drink and that our mates would be proud of. This partnership with The Sporting Globe is a perfect fit for us, it will be a destination venue for catching up with friends – the best of live sports, the freshest beer and a harbourside location – we can’t wait to open the doors.”
The venue is set to have a state-of-the-art fitout in The Sporting Globe style, complete with its signature booths and touch screen boothTVs®, and over 50 screens offering a wide selection of sporting options.
It is the first Sporting Globe location in Sydney, with the brand having 15 venues across other states.
“The Sporting Globe has grown significantly since it launched in Geelong ten years ago, with established venues in Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia, Sydney was a natural next step, and something the team and I have been working towards for a long time,” stated Sinclair.
The new The Sporting Globe x 4 Pines Brewpub venue will receive a multi-million-dollar refurbishment, which will see the location close from October and reopen by December 2020.
