Major new facilities are now under construction at Comiskey Group-operated Sandstone Point Hotel and Sandstone Point Resort, director Rob Comiskey has revealed.
The new additions to the resort will include a second heated pool, a swim up bar, and a jacuzzi spa, with all expected to be open by the September school holidays. Further significant new amenities are expected to be added to the BIG4 Holiday Park over the next few months, including the reimagining of the Oyster Shed fish and chippery into a Bali-style beach club.
Rob said he was inspired by a recent family holiday to Bali, and wanted to bring a taste of the laid back experience and offering of the beach clubs typically seen in areas such as Seminyak and Canggu.
The new Oyster Shed Beach Club will offer cocktails and daytime DJs, while continuing to encompass the same Sandstone Point atmosphere. The club is due to open by late 2022.
In addition, the Sandstone Point Hotel’s waterfront will become lined with palm trees, bean bags and an all new cocktail bar and restaurant.
Comiskey commented that he was looking forward to welcoming visitors to the new look venue.
“We always try to stay innovative and continually improve our businesses, we aim to keep reinvigorating our venues, giving guests new and exciting facilities to look forward to and enjoy,” he said.
“We are always trying to see what’s missing or what we could do better, we even ask our kids!
“A swim up bar is one of my favourite holiday past times and I know my wife would agree. My kids can’t wait to have a putt at the new mini golf course and I hope yours are just as excited.”
Additional ‘Eco Villas’, and a mini golf course, are also set to open later this year, before the December holiday season. This news comes after the Comiskey Group announced it would be constructing the Sunshine Coast’s largest pub and music venue.
