Nominations for the 2017 AHA NSW Awards for Excellence are now open.
With a record-breaking number of categories in this year’s awards, there are even more opportunities for hotels across New South Wales to be recognised for their accomplishments.
Hotels can be nominated for awards that are as varied as best sports bar, heart of the community, best burger and best pub-style accommodation. Awards that were introduced last year for the first time – best outdoor experience, best cheap-eat meal under $15, best innovative refurbishment – are expected to once again prove popular.
John Whelan, CEO of AHA NSW, stated that there are set to be even more new inclusions in the awards this year.
“We have some great new additions to the Awards in 2017, including two brand new categories – best bush pub and best steak sandwich, as well as a new live music competition – ‘Rockin’ the Puburbs’ – which will see one lucky artist or band perform on Awards night,” he said.
“The Awards for Excellence are all about rewarding innovation, quality and excellence of service at hotels across NSW – I would like to encourage all hotels to nominate and go up against the best in the business.”
The Rockin’ The Puburbs competition, which will see the winning live music act not only perform at the awards night, but go on a tour of pubs across the state, has already proven popular with roughly 120 entries so far.
Nominations and written submissions for the Awards for Excellence are due by Friday 14 July 2017, with finalists to be announced on Monday 16 October. The Awards night will be held at The Star in Sydney on 21 November.
