A new networking event focusing on Australia’s burgeoning alternative protein sector is taking place in Sydney on Friday.
The industry roundtable and networking event, Future Alternative, will centre on the plant-based and alternative protein megatrend and is being launched by B2B publishing company, Intermedia.
The half-day event will take place on 26 November at Sydney’s Shangri-La Hotel and will bring together leading FMCG brands and representatives from a number of industries including accommodation, retail, foodservice, academia, ESG investment and agriculture.
According to independent think tank Food Frontier, 42 per cent of Australians are eating less or no meat, and in FY20, Australia’s plant-based meat sector saw a 46 per cent increase in grocery retail sales, representing a huge opportunity for businesses looking to capitalise on this seismic shift in purchasing habits.
Future Alternative will feature a series of panel discussions with industry stakeholders as well as presentations from innovative thought leaders.
Among those attending are Food Frontier, v2food, CSIRO, Deloitte, Investment NSW, University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, NSW Farmers, Meet, Fable, Ovolo Hotels, Accor Hotels, Ampol and Compass Group.
Future Alternative will be held from 8.30am – 12pm, and will feature plant-based catering by Shangri-La Sydney’s executive chef, Brent Morley.
Registration is free and can be completed here.
