It’s a strange and heady time throughout the hotel industry. Recovery seems to be happening at various trajectories depending on your location and operations: regional and suburban pubs are booming as they take advantage of domestic tourism and working-from-home set-ups respectively, while CBD venues are still struggling with the lack of corporates and the total absence of international tourists.
Operators may be cautiously optimistic, but the end of JobKeeper signals the end of meaningful support for a sector that has been brought to its knees in the past year. Despite that, operators continue to look for new ways to increase patronage and revenue within their pubs.
