Australian Venue Co.’s (AVC) latest venue Quarterhouse is set to open on 14 May in Melbourne’s CBD.

The contemporary, three-storey pub will hold up to 1400 people and is located in the heart of the Melbourne Quarter precinct, just minutes from busy Southern Cross Station and Marvel Stadium.

The new venue will look to attract the after-work drinks occasion, pre and post-sporting event gatherings, corporate functions, and weekend celebrations.

Venue manager Luke Bottoms said he is excited about what the new venue will offer to the area.

“Quarterhouse is exactly what this part of the CBD has been missing,” he said.

“It’s everything Melbournians love about a pub; casual and with something for everyone, whilst also offering something unique with our rooftop bar overlooking the Sky Park.”

With its three distinct yet cohesive levels, Quarterhouse aims to blend Melbourne’s urban energy with traditional pub charm and incorporate natural elements into a versatile destination for locals and visitors alike.

The ground floor will offer a quintessential pub experience with an elevated feel, serving up hearty meals, cold drinks and live sports on a 4m wide LED screen, paired with comfortable banquette and booth seating and street dining. Level one will offer a versatile functions space with a terrace that can be booked for corporate or private events for up to 240 people.

Finally, the rooftop bar will comprise an open-air wrap-around terrace, opening out onto the brand-new inner-city greenspace Sky Park, suspended above Collins Street.

Featuring two menus, one curated for each level, the venue looks to blend the classic Melbourne pub meal experience with a Euro gastro-pub flair.

On the ground floor visitors can try small share dishes including fried squid with pickled fennel, lemon and aioli; or wood-fired flatbread served with olives, hummus and tapenade.

Modern pub classics like chicken parma, the Quarterhouse burger with bacon, blue cheese mayo, pickled onions, milk bun and skin on fries, and a selection of steaks will also be on offer. The rooftop will offer share-style dishes including wagyu beef skewers with a pepperberry jus and roast shallots, as well as seven different woodfired pizzas.

There are also larger gastro-pub style dishes to choose from like the crumbed pork ribeye with a lemon caper beurre noisette and chives, or the pan-fried barramundi served with a salsa verde.

Quarterhouse will also offer a curated weekly line-up of entertainment where city-goers can enjoy everything from sunset sip DJs to a Saturday long lunch, live music, free pool and trivia.

Quarterhouse is the latest inner Melbourne pub project from AVC, which has been active with venue transformations and openings within the city in the last twelve months.

AVC began major renovations at Crafty Squire site in the CBD in September last year, with plans to unveil a new concept, as well as opening the newly renovated Gardiner Hotel in November.
