The acquisition was officially made by Utopia Gaming Systems, Banktech’s gaming systems division. Global Gaming’s services include game development, compliance and licensing of international products, manufacturing and distribution. Its products consist of gaming management and loyalty solutions.
Banktech, which deals largely in ATMs, CRTs and safes will create a cross-selling portfolio of products and services to their business with the purchase of Global Gaming – a process started in 2014 with the establishment of Utopia Gaming Systems. Since then, Utopia Gaming Systems has become a licensed monitoring operator in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT. Licenses are pending in other states. This expansion is set to continue with the acquisition of Global Gaming.
“Global Gaming Industries is a strong business,” states David Glen, group managing director of Banktech. “It has a well-established technology platform, plus a dedicated team that will continue to develop new products and deepen our group’s relationship with the hospitality and gaming industries.”
Having operated for more than 25 years, Global Gaming industries has a decent foothold in the hotel and club market in New South Wales, and has been looking to expand into other states. Scott Macdougall, managing director of Global Gaming Industries, believes that Banktech’s resources will proliferate this expansion.
“Having Banktech behind us gives us the financial strength to further invest in research and development, as well as develop and innovative and expanded range of products to our customers.”
Global Gaming Industries will operate as an independent division of Utopia Gaming Systems.
