The Comiskey Group has announced that it is partnering with BIG4 Holiday Parks to create a holiday resort right next to the Sandstone Point Hotel.
Sandstone Point Hotel is situated on 34 acres of waterside land in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region, so there is plenty of space within the site to be developed. BIG4 Sandstone Point Holiday Resort is expected to open adjacent to the pub in late 2018.
Rob Comiskey, director of the Comiskey Group, was glad to partner with BIG4 Holiday Parks, in what is an ideal holiday location.
“We are so excited to announce that we have joined BIG4 Holiday Parks. Their holiday parks are dotted across the map in so many amazing locations throughout Australia and now the gorgeous Sandstone Point is one of them.
“We are very proud to be associated with a business that represents quality and a high level of service. We plan on taking BIG4 to the next level with a resort unlike any other. We can’t wait to open our doors and show everyone just how great the Moreton Bay Region really is. We are very much looking forward to the future.”
The BIG4 Sandstone Point Holiday Resort will focus on family-friendly facilities, including a waterpark, adults’ and kids’ pools, an in-built jumping pillow, tennis and basketball courts and a gym. There will be several accommodation options available to suit various budgets and groups, including 2- and 3-bedroom villas, a honeymoon villa, powered and unpowered camp sites, caravan sites and glamping tents.
The announcement comes after continued demand for accommodation facilities at the hotel, as the venue holds large concerts on-site with well-known artists that have included the likes of The Beach Boys, Bryan Adams and Suzi Quatro. The new resort is expected to be open by the time Sandstone Point Hotel hosts Mariah Carey for the Queensland leg of her national tour.
Not only will the BIG4 Sandstone Point Holiday Resort cater to concert guests, but Comiskey Group hopes that it will promote tourism to the Moreton Bay region. In turn, it is expected to boost and support the local economy, as Comiskey suggests.
“We will be taking job applications very soon for a variety of roles. We believe in giving back to the great community we reside in, which is why we will be prioritising locals in our search for new employees.”
This is the latest significant accommodation project for Comiskey Group, after opening its 90-room, 4.5-star offering at Eatons Hill Hotel late last year.
