Family-owned Queensland company, the Comiskey Group has taken ownership of the Samford Valley Hotel. The group behind the Eatons Hill Hotel, Sandstone Point Hotel and Beachmere Hotel have a history in both hotels and shopping centres.
“Samford is a great destination for families,” says Comiskey director Rob Comiskey, “offering beautiful countryside drives and boutique local businesses. Just as Sandstone Point is a great trip for a sea-change, Samford is a great trip for a tree-change! It has always been a place I’ve taken my family and it’s very exciting that we now own a piece of it. We hope to give back to the close-knit community and create an establishment that they can look forward to.”
The group revealed the hotel will be simply known as the Samford Hotel from now on, with a series of smaller renovations promising to introduce “new and exciting facilities to the venue over the next few months” a Comiskey spokesperson revealed. Much more substantial renos to the tune of $5m are planned to commence in mid-2020, the group revealed.
The future upgrades to Samford Hotel “will not only give a whole new feel to the venue but provide many new local job opportunities,” says a Comiskey spokesperson.
The group are set to double in team members with the new upgrades, ranging from bar and kitchen staff to management roles on offer later in 2020.
The group plan to provide new TAB facilities, a gaming room and bar as well as a new restaurant and new menu concept will soon be underway with the group currently sourcing produce from local farms to complete the intended ‘paddock to plate’ experience.
