Comiskey Group’s Dakabin Hotel is getting ready for a massive opening from Wednesday, with the greenfields pub receiving 5000 bookings in the 48 hours since reservations have been open.

The highly anticipated Dakabin Hotel, in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region, will open with celebrations on Wednesday 21 May at 11:30am, including the first ceremonial pour being auctioned for charity.

Situated on 3.75 hectares of land on the corner of Alma and Old Gympie Road, the $35m Dakabin Hotel development includes a $15m on-site shopping precinct, including Guzman Y Gomez, KFC, Zarraffa’s and a NightOwl service station.

Comiskey Group director David Comiskey, who was heavily involved in the construction side of the project, noted the significant effort that went into the mammoth project.

“There’s been a lot of hard work that has gone into every facet of the venue, from design and build to styling and the overall offering” added Comiskey.

“A big shout out to everyone on the construction site! I am so proud of my team across the board and look forward to seeing people at 11:30am on May 21st as we open our doors.”

The latest pub build for Comiskey Group, Dakabin Hotel will service the fast-growing suburb of the same name.

The local community have been enthusiastic about the pub for some time, with 4,000 people signing up for early access.

“We have already received unprecedented support,” stated Comiskey Group director Rob Comiskey.

“To receive over 5,000 bookings in just 48 hours was a fantastic result. It has been so rewarding to see the community rally around and get excited for their new local.”

The concept for the pub is unique within the broader Comiskey Group portfolio, featuring a one-restaurant, two-kitchen concept, delivering a unique dining experience that blends modern Australian fare with international influences.

The Western kitchen serves favourites inspired by the Americas, Great Britain, and Europe, while the Eastern kitchen presents an Asian-fusion menu drawing from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea and China. The Eastern kitchen also embraces traditional Japanese culinary methods, including the use of a Hibachi grill.

Another major offering within the pub is the Sin Bin Sports Bar, broadcasting everything from football to tennis on an expansive LED screen, complemented by a circular LED display playing the best of FoxSports.

Additional features include electronic darts, pool tables, a gaming room, a kids’ arcade, a half basketball court, and a sunken fireplace on the patio—ensuring something for every guest.

Entertainment will feature throughout the week with live music after work on Fridays and weekends, followed by DJs after dark.

With the Dakabin Hotel opening kicking off at 11:30am on Wednesday, the first beer pour auction will be held shortly thereafter. The money raised will be donated to a local charity. In conjunction with Eumundi Brewery – a recently acquired business for Comiskey Group – the Comiskey family has pledged to match the total raised, so as to double the donation.
