Construction has officially begun on Feros Group’s new state-of-the-art venue, Bingara Country Club.

Located within the new Bingara Gorge residential estate in southwest Sydney, the $50m development will accommodate 800-1000 people in a modern pavilion-style pub sitting alongside the Bingara Gorge Golf Course.

Designed by award-winning Sydney designers H&E Architects, Bingara Country Club will blend seamlessly into its natural surroundings with a mixture of indoor and outdoor facilities, complemented by a focus on quality dining and entertainment.

Following the lodgement of a Development Application (DA) in 2023, stage one of the development is now underway, featuring a family bistro, outdoor children’s play area, beer garden, sports bar and multiple function spaces.

Stage one of the development is anticipated to open at the beginning of 2026 while work begins on stage two, which will expand the facilities to include boutique accommodation alongside premium conferencing and wedding facilities. An opening date for the second stage of the development is yet to be confirmed.

The new establishment is owned and operated by Feros Group, and executive chair Chris Feros says he is thrilled to bring the venue to the Bingara Gorge community.

“Our vision is to create a welcoming space where families, friends, and the wider community can come together to enjoy great food, exceptional hospitality, and stunning views of the golf course,” he stated.

While Bingara Country Club aims to form an integral part of the Bingara Gorge residential community, its premium dining and entertainment experience is expected to attract visitors from Sydney and Wollongong, both of which are located within an hour of the venue.

Berry Hotel DA rejected

While one development is now underway, Feros Group recently had a DA for the $10m redevelopment of the Berry Hotel refused by the Council after local opposition.

The application aimed to modernise and expand the heritage-listed hotel, including the extension of the pub with outdoor dining, construction of new accommodation with a rooftop swimming pool, car parking and landscaping, raising concerns about heritage conservation and overdevelopment among the Council and local residents.

Simon Johnston, Feros Group CEO, commented: “We are certainly disappointed with the outcome. However, we remain fully committed to designing and executing a renovation of the venue. We have a deep appreciation for the local area and are passionate about making long-term improvements to the site.

“We value the feedback from Council, the community, and the Commissioner, and we have already begun developing a new plan. Before submitting a formal application, we will present this revised proposal to both Council and the community for their input.”
