Feros Group has received DA approval to create a boutique accommodation precinct as part of its greenfields build, Bingara Gorge Country Club.

Wollondilly Shire Council approved the plans, paving the way for a boutique hotel that aims to become a new tourism destination for south-west Sydney.

Feros Group broke ground on the Bingara Gorge Country Club – a $50m development with Metro Property Group – at the start of the year, with construction of the pub expected to be completed by early 2026.

In the meantime, Feros Group purchased a circa 2,500 sqm site directly adjoining the Country Club and will develop and operate both the hotel and pub.

The approved plans for the accommodation precinct feature 49 rooms with a mix of sizes to suit families, couples and corporate visitors. A private gymnasium, pool, health and beauty services, and retail space are also part of the project.

Set on a 7,280m² parcel of land and overlooking the golf course, Bingara Gorge Country Club will accommodate between 800–1000 people, comprising a family bistro and bar, large outdoor kids play area, beer garden, sports bar and multiple function spaces.

Chris Feros, CEO of Feros Group, said the hotel will complement the Country Club’s food, beverage and leisure offering.

“This project is about creating a destination for the community and broader region. Whether it is hosting wedding guests, golfers, event attendees or visitors simply looking to explore Wilton and its surrounds, the hotel will fill a critical gap in the market.”

“We see the Country Club as a place where people can stay, socialise and celebrate in one of Sydney’s idyllic communities,” stated Feros.

Luke Hartman, managing director at Metro Property Development, said the hotel approval marks another important step in Bingara Gorge’s positioning as a premier masterplanned community in the South West Growth Corridor.

“The accommodation precinct will provide a much-needed option in a region where hotel supply is limited, while also ensuring the community can host relatives, friends and business travellers. With Western Sydney International Airport, new schools, shopping precincts and major new roads underway, this investment reinforces Bingara Gorge’s location at the epicentre of a rapidly growing area.”

Wollondilly Shire Council CEO Ben Taylor said the addition of hotel accommodation at Bingara Gorge would be a great way to support the visitor economy as well as providing a new social hub for locals.

“This is positive news for Wilton and the wider Wollondilly community. The Country Club and accommodation will not only give residents a wonderful new place to socialise and host family and friends but also provide a boost for tourism and jobs in the region. As our community grows, these types of facilities are important to complement all the wonderful attractions, unique businesses and exciting events happening across our beautiful shire.”

The accommodation offering will include 49 rooms, a private gym, pool, health and beauty services, and a retail precinct.

Both the hospitality venue and the accommodation precinct are being designed by award-winning Sydney firm, H&E Architects. Director Chris Grinham said the accommodation hotel has been designed as a contemporary yet complementary extension of the Country Club.

“It is a sophisticated, environmentally responsive design that enhances both the Country Club and the wider Bingara Gorge community. The architecture is designed to meld with the bushland setting and neighbouring amenities – Pulse Fitness Club and the Country Club, with a vernacular style exterior design and use of recycled brickwork to assist the building [to] sit comfortably within the landscape and alongside the golf course.”

“Its northern orientation provides views across the 9th to 18th golf holes, while black cladding ensures the structure quietly recedes into the pale green backdrop of the surrounding bushland. Functionally, the accommodation connects directly with the Country Club, ensuring the precinct operates as a seamless whole,” stated Grinham.

“Inspired by the area’s rural heritage, we have adopted a refined corrugated iron aesthetic and used louvres for shading and privacy in-between the rooms. Solar panels and rainwater harvesting will help reduce its environmental footprint. The pool and breakout spaces flow naturally to the golf course, with scenic vistas over the national park.”

With the Country Club set to open early in 2026, construction of the accommodation component is scheduled to commence in late 2027.
