The support for the Future Leaders Scholarship continues, with Carlton & United Breweries also joining as a sponsor of the program.

Carlton & United Breweries has generously donated a 4 Pines Brewery Education Session valued at $4000 for the winner and nine finalists. The session will be focussed on education, insights, trends, networking and engagement for the ten recipients.

The winner and finalists will enjoy:

  • A beverage market trends overview presentation
  • Beer production process education
  • Brewery visit including a visit to the production line
  • Tastings and lunch

“We are thrilled to support the Future Leaders Scholarship,” stated Peter Yeomans, general manager sales NSW/ACT for Carlton & United Breweries.

“Working with our pub partners is a foundational part of Carlton and United Brewerie’s business, and we are always looking to support the sector. We are proud to assist in finding up-and-coming pub talent who will have long and successful careers within hotels.”

The additional prizes, along with the Allara Learning leadership program prizes, take the total Scholarship prize pool to a value of $18,000. The collective nature of the some of the prizes also means that it’s an invaluable networking tool for the finalist pool as well – as they get to meet and spend time with the generation of publicans they will move up through the ranks with.

The Future Leaders Scholarship is aimed at anyone currently working in an Assistant Venue Manager role, equivalent specialised role or junior group role (eg. Venue marketing manager, sous chef, events coordinator etc), in pubs across Australia, looking to further their career within the sector.

“Exceptional personnel forms the foundation of any successful pub enterprise, and we want to nurture that talent! We would encourage anyone looking to get ahead in the pubs sector to apply for the Scholarship. And to owners and senior leadership, we ask you to put forward your next big talents,” stated Vanessa Cavasinni, managing editor of Australian Hotelier.

The scholarship winner will be announced at the Pub Leaders Summit on Tuesday 10 September.
