As part of its package of gaming reforms the NSW Government is seeking submissions on its proposed a third-party exclusion scheme, a statewide exclusion register, and the use of facial recognition technology in venues with gaming machines to support exclusions.
The third-party exclusion scheme would allow family members, friends and the police to exclude individuals from hotels and clubs through the court system or the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA).
The Government said the applications would be based on significant gambling harm for family/friends or in the case of police, for criminal activity.
The consultation process is open now and is seeking feedback from the community and stakeholders on the proposed policy approach, and several key issues covered in the Consultation Paper.
Those wishing to submit their feedback must do so by 11:59pm Friday 14 March 2025. The Consultation Paper and full details on how to submit feedback is available through the NSW Government’s Have Your Say website.
