The Unit (“HLTINFCOV001 – Comply with Infection Prevention and Control Policies and Procedures” ) is designed for online, self-paced training or can be delivered via a virtual classroom, or face-to-face (if safe to do so).
The training is fully funded by the Commonwealth and State Governments – the initiative was established to support Australian businesses to re-open safely following the COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions, to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission and to improve consumer confidence that it is safe to re-engage with businesses.
Participants will learn a range of skills, including:
- Proper hand hygiene practices
- Effective surface cleaning and use of personal protective equipment
- Disposal of contaminated waste
- Hazard identification, control and reporting
- Appropriate protocols and responses in the event of an incident
The online training is via an easy and engaging interactive platform, but every student is also given a dedicated trainer to help along the way. Virtual classrooms can be set up to workshop ideas and discuss any sticking points. Upon completion of the short-course program students attain a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.
