Laundy Hotels and Tabcorp have announced a new strategic partnership that will see Tabcorp remain the pub group’s exclusive wagering partner for the next two years.
As an Exclusive Marquee Partner, Laundy Hotels will benefit from a revolutionised TAB retail offering, rolling out next-generation offerings throughout the group’s pubs to deliver an omni-channel wagering and entertainment experience. Additionally, Laundy Hotels are set to take advantage of new wagering enhancements including TAB’s biggest evolution of personalised customer offers and revamped Venue Mode capabilities.
TAB general manager – racing industry & venues Brenden Varcoe detailed some of those new enhacements for Australian Hotelier.
“Our Next Gen venue formats are about innovation and building on the complete omni-channel experience. You’ll see state of the art screens, and huge LED placements across the venues, as well as exclusive offers and activations for customers like never before. On the digital front we have recently launched TAB Tip’em – a free platform venues can use to facilitate punting clubs and tipping comps, and we have a batch of new features and enhancements focused on customer value coming to Venue Mode – our exclusive in-venue offering via the TAB app,” he explained.
“We will also be broadcasting Sky Racing live from some of our premium venues highlighting how we bring the whole ecosystem together.”
“Sky Racing was live with Brad Davidson at Terrigal Beach House on the weekend, enhancing the customer experience in venue, and giving the pub a marketing opportunity to drive foot traffic with a live broadcast. He even picked a few winners on the day.”
Varcoe said TAB had grand plans to super-charge the Laundy Group’s retail offering, wagering operations and customer activations.
“TAB is the only company that offers a digital, retail, television and radio broadcast capability, and we love working with groups like Laundy Hotels to provide an omni-channel experience for customers,’’ he said.
“This new partnership is a strong vote of confidence in our retail transformation and we’re really looking forward to working closely with the group to accelerate their business, and create iconic TAB customer experiences.
Arthur Laundy said that the partnership means a lot to him and his family.
“We pride ourselves on good service, and providing friendly, social environments to our customers.
“TAB has been a long-term partner for us, that’s important to me and I am looking forward to continuing working with TAB and the changes they are making.”
Iris Capital partnership going strong
The partnership with Laundy Hotels is the second major pubs partnership TAB have undertaken since renewing their focus on their on-premise partnerships. In December last year, it was announced that TAB had entered into a three-year partnership with Iris Capital across its 32 pubs. Six months in, and the partnership is doing well.
“We love working with Iris Capital. They are a great brand, backed by great people with first class venues and together we are reimagining and enhancing the customer experience,” stated Varcoe.
“Our partnership is focussed on mutual growth, and recently we hosted Gary Payton’s NBA Block Party at Hotel Steyne, leveraging our partnership with the NBA to bring basketball legend Gary Payton into the venue for an exclusive event at one of Iris Capital’s iconic venues. Customers loved this money can’t buy experience, and we were excited to work closely with the team to bring this to life.”
This latest partnership with Laundy Hotels deal will have an elevated focus on commercial development and innovation for customers over the next two years, for pubs that include The Log Cabin, Woolly Bay Hotel, The Marsden Brewhouse, Twin Willows Hotel and The Locker Room.
