Lion’s craft label Little Creatures doubles down on its Western Australian roots, taking over the microbrewery at Perth venue The Camfield.
Founded in Fremantle in 2000, Little Creatures is an esteemed brewery in the Western Australian craft beer scene. The Camfield microbrewery will be the second Western Australian brewery for Little Creatures, and represents parent company Lion’s increased investment into the brand.
“Little Creatures is proud to be opening its second outpost in Western Australia, twenty-three years on since opening the doors to its first brewery in Fremantle. We’ve put a lot of effort into creating a space that is both inviting and exciting for locals and visitors alike, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone,” said Russ Gosling, Little Creatures head brewer.
Owned by Three Pound Group, The Camfield boasts a 9000 sqm site and proximity to the Optus stadium, making it a favoured spot during stadium events. Alongside the microbrewery, the venue includes six bars, an expansive courtyard and container bar, and a function centre. The microbrewery, previously called Bevy Brewing Co and operated by Three Pound Group, has now ceased production.
Little Creatures has already commenced brewing at The Camfield ahead of the official launch on 5 May. As part of the partnership, the microbrewery will brew Little Creatures classics as well as a range of limited-release beers exclusive to The Camfield and other Three Pound Group venues.
The Three Pound Group is also excited about the project, according to general manager Tim Mclernon.
“The Camfield has been pouring Little Creatures on tap since we opened the doors in 2018 and are honoured to be its second home in WA,” Mclernon said.
Guests at the 5 May launch event will have the chance to win a ‘Little Creatures at The Camfield Season Pass’, which gives the holder priority access to The Camfield and a Little Creatures bar tab on AFL game days.
