The Doonside Hotel in western Sydney has been sold to Marlow Hotel Group.
The Doonside Hotel, in the Blacktown LGA, has been sold in an off-market transaction to family-owned Marlow Hotel Group, which adds the property to a portfolio of large-format pubs across Sydney. The transaction was negotiated by HTL Property’s Dan Dragicevich and Sam Handy.
The business generates annual revenues of circa $8.7m across bar, bistro, gaming, wagering, accommodation and retail liquor.
“This strategic acquisition marks another milestone in our ongoing growth and investment strategy, reinforcing our commitment to expanding our presence across key suburban markets in New South Wales,” stated Jason Marlow, owner and CEO of Marlow Hotel Group.
“The Doonside Hotel has long served as a cornerstone of its local community, and we are excited to build on its strong legacy by delivering the high standards of hospitality, service, and community engagement that define the Marlow Hotel Group.”
The hotel boasts an expansive trading footprint, across a 7,278m2 landholding, 270 degree parking and strategic positioning within the Doonside retail and transport precinct. It separately provides a public bar, TAB, kitchen, dining, beer garden, gaming room, accommodation rooms and a drive-through bottleshop. The hotel has a 4am licence with 26 gaming machines, and was ranked #179 for the June quarter.
“The Doonside Hotel presents various strategic investment fundamentals that appeal to experienced operators such as the Marlow Hotel Group, who themselves have a track record of creating well rounded hospitality venues which cater to all demographics,” stated Dragicevich.
The suburb of Doonside is located between Western Sydney powerhouse centres Rooty Hill and Blacktown; with the pub serving an exclusive catchment made up of not only Doonside residents, but also the neighbouring suburbs of Woodcroft, Bungarribee and Arndell Park.
The Doonside Hotel joins a number of large-format western Sydney pubs in the Marlow Hotel Group stable, include The Mill Hotel in Milperra; The Peachtree Hotel in Penrith; and the Kings Park Tavern, Kings Park.
