Michael Dixon has revealed that once Dixon Hospitality is publicly listed, he will leave the business.
Dixon founded Dixon Hospitality almost two years ago after starting with one pub and three party boats, and making the committed leap into pubs with the purchase of the Open Door Pub Co’s eight venues in Victoria. Since then, his father Bruce Dixon, former CEO of Spotless, has come on as CEO, with Michael looking after corporate development of the business.
In two years the business has experienced rapid growth, purchasing the entire portfolios of Drink N Dine and Beer Deluxe, two sites in Sydney’s Barangaroo, and several Keystone venues. With the business now in a favourable condition to float an IPO on the ASX in early 2017, Michael Dixon has decided to go back to his roots.
“My decision to step down from Dixon is simply the chance to buy Party Boats off Dixon Group and gives me the opportunity to run my own business.”
Dixon suggested that this has always been his objective.
“This has always been my intention and what I have worked hard for over the past few years.”
