Valley Social has opened in Swan Valley, at the site of the former German restaurant and brewery Elmar’s in the Valley.
Former owners Elmar and Annette Dieren closed Elmar’s in May after 17 years of operation, selling the venue to Paul Mavor (ex Pirate Bar) and Olivier Letrone (current owner of C-Restaurant and Swell Café & Kiosk Mullaloo). The venue has had a refresh and reopened as Valley Social, and incorporates a micro-brewery and distillery focused on hemp-infused beers and spirits.
Valley Social includes three bars and a dining offer focused on North American barbecue. Outdoor dining and socialising is a focus of the venue with multiple alfresco and lawn areas, including an outdoor marquee which boasts 450 sqm of space undercover in the middle of the lawn.
The new owners have also retained Elmar’s former manager of 15 years, Diana Topic, as front-of-house operations manager. Topic says that after a two-month closure of the site, the new venue has been warmly received by the public.
“Fantastic local support has been received. Many people are coming in to try what is now on offer, with the venue looking a little more up to date than what was here previously,” states Topic.
Happy hour in particular has been very popular, particularly in introducing people to Valley Social’s own hemp-infused beverages on offer.
“The public are pleasantly surprised as the flavour is subtle and mild. The firm favourites thus far are the Herbee Pilsner and the Herbee Dredd Ale Red beers. No surprise that the Herbee Hemp-Infused Gin is also a hot favourite.”
Located half an hour from Perth, the area is well frequented by locals, day-trippers, foodies and tourists alike.
