The leasehold interest in one of Sydney’s historic pubs, the Glasgow Arms Hotel, has changed hands, being sold to Stehr Hospitality who will now take over operation of the pub.

A fixture in the inner-city suburb of Ultimo since the 19th century, the Glasgow Arms Hotel is known for its classic architecture, but recently underwent a renovation to refresh its accommodation, dining and entertainment facilities.

Located within close proximity to some of Sydney’s most prominent tourist destinations, including Darling Harbour and the Powerhouse Museum, Stehr Hospitality hopes to maintain the tradition of the pub, which was previously operated by Adam Derwin, while looking to new growth opportunities.

Ben Stehr, owner and managing director of Stehr Hospitality, says: “We are thrilled to take over the Glasgow Arms Hotel, a venue steeped in history and sense of community. The goal is to preserve its heritage while introducing a new energy and enhance the customer experience.”

The transaction was managed by Leonard Bongiovanni of MQ & Associates, who says the sale of the leasehold interest represents an opportunity for the hotel to enter a new phase of operation under the leadership of Stehr Hospitality, and build on its longstanding reputation.
