Victorian gaming venues have just over one week to ensure they have replaces all previous signs, posters and brochures with the new design requirements.
Player Information Standards are set by the Minister for Casino, Gaming and Liquor Regulation, and they prescribe harm minimisation materials that must be displayed in gaming venues. Under the Gambling Regulations 2015 and the Gambling Regulations (Pre-Commitment) Regulations 2014, these materials must be displayed in all gaming venues, as well as the casino.
The Minister issued updated Standards, which took effect on 9 February 2024. Under the updated Standards, the prescribed materials that must be displayed are as follows:
- Player information posters,
- responsible gambling signs,
- player information brochures, and
- pre-commitment information brochures.
Under the updated standards, there is no longer a requirement to display A5 talkers in gaming venues and operators can now display the A2 posters and signs electronically. The updated standards also introduced new design requirements for posters, brochures and signs.
Gaming venues have until 11 June 2024 to ensure that all previous versions of the posters, brochures and signs displayed at their venue are replaced with the new design requirements.
The VGCCC said it will be mailing the new posters, brochures and signs to all venue operators to ensure they are able to comply with the new requirements by 11 June 2024. After this date, gaming venues can contact the VGCCC with stock requirements and venue details and they will be posted within 14 days.
You can download digital copies of the new posters below to be displayed electronically:
Full details of the updated standards, where and how they should be displayed and other information on the new standards, are available through the VGCCC website.
