Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW) has completed its investigation into the Greater Western Sydney Giants’ end of season party at the Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel, and referred the incident to the NSW Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority (ILGA).

L&GNSW launched its investigation into the incident after receiving a complaint concerning inappropriate behaviour during the GWS event.

The complaint followed the GWS party at the hotel, which saw several players dress up in costumes and then allegedly carry out lewd and inappropriate behaviour. Following the incident the AFL suspended six GWS players and find seven others for their conduct at the hotel.

The L&GNSW investigation considered alleged indecent conduct on the premises and failure by the venue to take reasonable steps to prevent behaviour likely to encourage the misuse and abuse of alcohol.

L&GNSW determined that the alleged breaches warranted referral to the NSW Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority which will now consider two disciplinary complaints.

L&GNSW said it is committed to holding licensed venues accountable and reminds operators that serious penalties may apply for breaches of liquor laws, licence conditions or failures in the responsible service of alcohol.
