Whitehouse Properties Group opens varied drinking and dining option, The Vicar, in Dural, NSW
Owner Scott Whitehouse of Whitehouse Properties Group has revealed the staggered opening of his new drinking, dining and accommodation venue The Vicar.
The 2,249 sq m venue will, when complete, incorporate a sports bar and kitchen, outdoor smoked meats terrace and kitchen, upscale restaurant and wine bar, along with a dedicated event space, 24-room accommodation, bottle shop and multiple terraces.
Whitehouse said:
“The Vicar is here to give The Hills district a dedicated, world class, approachable drinking and dining destination. From The Northside Brisket Bar, Mrs Goldsmith’s Wine Bar, Wakefield’s Dining, a dedicated weddings and event space and everything in between, The Vicar is designed to have every occasion covered.”
Ex-Merivale staff include Executive Chef Leigh McDivitt (Bondi’s Upper East Side, est and Lotus) and food consultant Dave O’Brien (ex-Merivale Executive Chef). They have devised specialised menus for each area. Handling drinks across the venue is ex Australian Bartender Of The Year (2011/12), Tim Philips.
The Vicar’s design was headed by Hamish Gutherie of Hecker Gutherie, interior designers and by Jonas Allen, Mike Hanna and Don Cameron and architect Hugh Slatyer.
The more relaxed North Side, which is now open, has a dedicated bar within the Sports Bar serving everyday pub classics at high tables, along with The Northside Lounge with lounge style seating and central fireplace. The bar extends to reach through the open doors leading to an outdoor terraces.
There’s a dedicated wood-fired oven, while the outdoor terrace will also be fired up with its own outdoor barbeque, known as The Northside Brisket Bar.
Due to open in December is the upscale South Side, divided by Wakefield’s Dining Restaurant, opening 3 December, and the European-influenced Mrs Goldsmith’s Wine Bar set to follow shortly after.
Also situated on the property is a drive-through bottle shop, and a gaming room set to open in early December. Still to come in early 2019 is a function space and private 24-room accommodation.
