Sydney’s Dockside Cockle Bay Wharf played host to Bacchus Wine Merchant’s annual trade tasting event, ‘Walk on the Wine Side’, on Monday 23 June.
The day brought together more than 350 trade professionals for an afternoon of discovery, connection, and exceptional wine.
Designed exclusively for sommeliers, bar managers, and industry buyers, the event offered guests the opportunity to sample premium wines from across Australia and around the globe, meet the winemakers behind the labels, and learn about their craft.
Aaron Winwood, National Sales Manager at Bacchus Wine Merchant, said the day was a great success.
“It was a beautiful, sunny winter’s day in Sydney, and we were thrilled with the turnout. Over 350 customers joined us to taste an exceptional selection of wines from more than 50 of our fantastic producers,” he said.
“These producers travelled from renowned wine regions across Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, and France to showcase their latest offerings.”
Among the highlights of the day was a masterclass hosted by Champagne Collet, who are currently touring Australia to introduce their brand to the local market. The session attracted a full house, underlining the strong appetite among trade professionals for new stories and experiences in the wine world.
“The strong attendance and enthusiastic engagement throughout the event were a clear reflection of the strength and resilience of our business, even in today’s challenging market,” said Winwood.
“It was incredibly rewarding to see such support from the trade and to witness firsthand the value our producers and partners continue to bring to the industry.”
Following the success of the Sydney event, Bacchus Wine Merchant will take Walk on the Wine Side to Brisbane next. The next tasting will be held on Sunday 28 July at the Emporium Hotel, South Bank, from 1pm to 6pm, once again welcoming trade professionals to explore and engage with the Bacchus portfolio.
