Dan Murphy’s opened three new big box in Victoria in November, with Spotswood, Epsom and Rosebud all gaining new stores and another store at Woolooware in Sydney’s south set to open in January.
In addition, Dan Murphy’s stores in Albury, Ballina, Shepparton, Erina, Noarlunga and Burwood have all re-launched following renewals, which include electronic shelf labels, enhanced pick-up options and internal and external refreshes.
Dan Murphy’s Managing Director Agi Pfeiffer-Smith said the new stores and renewals demonstrate the chain’s commitment to big box retailing and expanding the Dan Murphy’s brand.
“Dan Murphy’s success is built on large format stores and we continue to make targeted investments to tap into growing markets in strong population growth corridors,” Pfeiffer-Smith said.
The four new stores will add more than 3000 square metres of retail space to the Dan Murphy’s network by January, and will bring the total number of new Dan Murphy’s stores opened over the course of the year to eight, in addition to 15 store renewals. The total number of Dan Murphy’s stores nationwide will stand at 272 when the Woolooware store opens.
“Every year we aim to expand our network by about this number of new stores and 2024 will be no different. In fact we’ve just announced we plan to open a Dan Murphy’s at Perth Airport, which promises to be a fantastic new store servicing a wide range of locals and tourists alike.
“We are right in the midst of our busiest trading period, and with 5.3 million MyDan’s members (and counting), I would like to thank people right across the country who trust Dan Murphy’s to deliver the best drinks and value for their festive social occasions with family, friends and loved ones.
